I’d explore your bends and folds
I’d ride you like a new bike,
And then I would feel your strength
Muscle, bone, and soul
And shed a tear for all the pain and sorrow
You have silently born
Even on the days I thought I knew you so.
I’d try out your smile again and again
Then laugh until I was wild and flush with heat
And as I caught your breath I’d realize life
From within your skin.
